DALLAS, TX -- CJ Logistics America has deployed with Phantom Auto and is actively utilizing remotely operated forklifts. Using Phantom Auto's remote operation platform, remote operators located more than 750 miles away are remotely driving forklifts through Phantom's ultra-low latency video streaming software.

Phantom Auto's technology is enabling remote drivers to seamlessly work alongside CJ’s on-site warehouse employees today.

"We believe the smarter approach to more efficient warehouse operations marries better engineering and systems with the unique capabilities of our most important resource: people," said CJ Logistics COO Ken Heller in a post on the company's site. "Remote operation enables us to deploy our technology faster and at scale."

Expanding the Labor Pool with Remote Operations

Remote operation expands CJ Logistics’ labor pool by removing geographic restrictions to hiring, and further diversifies the labor pool by creating new opportunities for disabled individuals, veterans, and women.

“With this deployment, we’re looking into the feasibility of this technology to be used throughout our operations,” said Laura Adams, VP, TES. “With lift drivers potentially able to work from anywhere, remote operation would increase our labor pool and help improve resiliency to disruptions.”

With remotely operated forklifts, CJ Logistics is aiming for more efficient warehouse operations, resulting in improved safety, accuracy, and productivity.

The company is also deploying Phantom’s remotely operated counterbalance forklifts for more complex tasks, such as putaway and picking in bulk storage or racks.
