Transparency and sustainability took center stage in the  2023 MHI Annual Industry Report, "The Responsible Supply Chain."

Based on a survey of more than 2,000 supply chain industry professionals, the report highlighted the growing need for improved sustainability in all aspects of supply chain management. 74% of survey respondents said their companies are very interested in supply chain technology and innovation, and 93% said they recognize the importance of using technology to improve work outcomes and team performance.

Innovative digital technologies are seen as key to helping supply chains become more responsible, resilient, and efficient. At the same time, supply chain organizations are facing growing calls from consumers, regulators, and industry groups to adopt more sustainable business practices.

The top challenge to adopting innovation? The talent shortage. Hiring and retaining qualified workers remains a chronic issue in logistics. To stay ahead of the competition, companies need to invest in their most important asset: their employees.

"Competitive advantage will depend on your people, your ability to implement technologies, and foster supplier collaborations that will result in more transparent, sustainable, and responsible supply chains," said John Paxton, CEO of MHI, in the report.

In the past two years, Phantom Auto exhibited at MHI's annual trade shows, MODEX 2022 and ProMat 2023. The company won the 2022 MHI Innovation Award for Best New Product. In case you missed it, here is a recap video showing how Phantom's remote operation technology is helping logistics companies hire and recruit talent from a broader and more diverse labor pool, improving sustainability and resiliency across the supply chain.
