We are excited to welcome David Rasmussen, an expert in functional safety and mobile robot safety, to the Phantom team. David joins Phantom as Principal Functional Safety Manager to lead safety and compliance efforts to ensure that Phantom’s products are designed, developed, and deployed with customers in the safest manner.
David is widely recognized as an expert in the fields of functional safety, industrial automation, and mobile robot safety, having spent over 40 years at Rockwell Automation. Most recently, he was a Principal Functional Safety Engineer and Principal Risk Manager at Amazon, where he led safety and compliance efforts for Amazon’s Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and Sortation Robotic Systems.
David has shaped industry standards over the years by actively participating in safety and compliance standards committees from RIA, ANSI, UL and other regulatory and compliance authorities. Over the last fifteen years, he has trained and facilitated the certification of thousands of functional safety engineers in machinery safety. David brings invaluable knowledge and deep experience with mobile robot safety products, industrial control products, presence sensing, and advanced safety technology such as networked safety.
David enjoys being a collaborative leader and team member, happily sharing his expertise in all aspects of applying safety standards -- from developing applications, to system and machine design, to training customers.
